Our philosophy for new players is simple: you should learn by playing the game. This is a spaceship video game, and rather than sign up for lectures and go through complicated classes- you should just get out there and generate explosions.
Minmatar Fleet Alliance is a player versus player (PvP) alliance, and as such, you will learn how to replace ships in Minmatar Fleet Academy. Sometimes, you'll make the enemy replace their ship. More often, you'll be replacing your own ship. Ships are ammo, and that's your first lesson!
To get the most fun out of your time in Minmatar Fleet Academy,
Buckle up and get ready!
You're a new player, you're going to have a ridiculous amount of questions about the game. And luckily, we're playing an MMO, where you can learn from others.
Asking questions the right way will ensure that you get as much help as possible. Here's an example of the same question, asked differently.
What ship do I bring?
I have a Vigil, Arbitrator, Blackbird, and Maulus. What's the most appropriate one to bring? Thanks!
See how these questions are different? Put some effort in, and your fellow pilots will move mountains to make sure that you have as much fun as possible.
This will be a short introduction to the ships you'll be flying, likely for the next couple of months. Before we dive in, let's explain the basics.
If you're not sure what a ship does, no shit, you probably haven't flown it before! That's fine. When in doubt, show up, follow the basics (anchor, broadcast, target the enemy), and ask questions after the fleet.
Fleets are the way you'll learn how to play the game, primarily because that's where most of the fun happens.
